Photography holidays in Scotland - the location

Follow this link to see the very superior holiday home in Ullapool that we use. It is just a short walk into the main town but has its own beach and stunning views. It can accommodate 12 people, but we limit the number of people to 8 - including us as hosts. So there are just 6 places available for each holiday.

All guest rooms bar one are en-suite (we let you know at the time of your enquiry if that is the only room left - so no surprises when you arrive) and all have loch views. There is a washing machine (so you can pack light), and you will have access to the kitchen should you prefer to eat in some evenings.

We provide breakfast, and when we are off to remote locations, we provide packed lunches. We can cater for any allergies and preferences.

Ullapool is vibrant community, surrounded by beautiful scenery. It is just over an hour from Inverness and is also the port for ferries to Stornoway in the Outer Hebrides.

There are many options for eating out, there are even take-aways (rare in the Highlands).  There is a choice of pubs, many with live music. We are particular fans of the open mike night at the FBI (Ferry Boat Inn) and the informal nights at The Argyll.

There are bookshops (three!) and shops that include a deli and supermaket (again, rare in the Highlands).

Ullapool was the departure point for many who left Scotland during the Highland Clearance for Nova Scotia, Canada and other destinations - this and more is documented in the museum.
